The Murtovaara House Museum offers you a glimpse into the life of a family of forest rangers. There are 16 buildings built in a traditional way by using only wood. Even the roofs are made of birchbark, which was common in the 19th century.
You can sense the special atmosphere already upon arrival. The half a kilometer long footpath lingers through the woods until the view opens to the meadows which are surrounding the traditional Eastern Finnish courtyard.
The Murtovaara House Museum is maintained by the foundation of Karelian culture KKES.
